Softball Recap: Ingleside Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Ingleside had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let the Devine Warhorses / Arabians on the board on Friday, marking the Mustangs' second-straight 9-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by six runs or more this season.

Kylee Ward was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carol Rodriquez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

Ingleside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Devine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-7.

Coming up, Ingleside will take on Zapata on the 17th. Devine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
