Baseball Recap: Licking Heights Takes a Loss

Licking Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newark Catholic Green Wave. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Green Wave from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Licking Heights got a good showing from Alex Dufour, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Licking Heights' loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Newark Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Licking Heights will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Newark Catholic has already played their next contest (against Ridgewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
