Basketball Game Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. St. Francis Indians

Idalia hasn't had much luck against St. Francis recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Idalia Wolves will look to defend their home court against the St. Francis Indians at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Idalia is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Cheyenne Wells back in December of 2024. Idalia fell to Cheyenne Wells 37-32. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Tigers are ranked 78th).

The losing side was boosted by Brady Terrell, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Weskan 70-41. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Idalia, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Idalia against St. Francis when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-29 win. In that game, Idalia amassed a halftime lead of 40-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
