Basketball Recap: Polk County Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McMinn Central, Polk County was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Hiwassee Dam Eagles by a score of 58-49. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 42-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Polk County's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Hiwassee Dam, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polk County has already played their next contest (against Roane County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hiwassee Dam won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Copper Basin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
