Softball Recap: Bohemia Manor Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Bohemia Manor waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Elkton Golden Elks with a sharp 13-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-1 last Monday.

Lyla Wescoat (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Temperance Fitzimmons (2025) was a standout: she scored two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Elizabeth Marcum (2027) was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bohemia Manor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.

Bohemia Manor's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Elkton, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Bohemia Manor will challenge Caravel Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Elkton, they will face off against Harford Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Elks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cobras have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
