Recap: Normal West Wildcats vs. East Peoria Raiders
The Normal West Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on East Peoria with a sharp 57-34 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Normal West, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Normal West had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Robinson scored 20 points and CJ Wilson scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mike Zaleski, who scored six points along with two steals.
Normal West's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-17. As for East Peoria, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normal West will take on Bloomington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Peoria's road trip will continue as they head out to face Metamora at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Metamora will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something East Peoria surely won't give up without a fight.
