Basketball Game Preview: Hobbton Wildcats vs. North Duplin Rebels

Hobbton is 1-9 against North Duplin since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hobbton Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the North Duplin Rebels at 6:00 p.m.

Hobbton is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Tuesday. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union.

Meanwhile, North Duplin came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-50 W against the Eagles. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Eagles are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Duplin's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Hobbton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Hobbton was dealt a bruising 55-19 defeat at the hands of North Duplin in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Hobbton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
