Softball Recap: Cabrini Comes Up Short

If Cabrini was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of McGehee last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cabrini fell just short of the De La Salle Cavalier by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Crescents have struggled against the Cavalier recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ashley Normand was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Thibodeaux, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Normand wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cabrini kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cabrini's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for De La Salle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Cabrini will head out to take on Landry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for De La Salle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker T. Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
