Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Comes Up Short

Word of God Academy and Bishop Noland Episcopal Day squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Word of God Academy had to settle for second. They fell to the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles 28-24. The matchup marked the Force's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Noland Episcopal Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson LeBlanc, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 14 points. LeBlanc has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Roy Washington, who posted five points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Word of God Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
