Volleyball Game Preview: Troy Christian Eagles vs. Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks

The Troy Christian Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Troy Christian had won two straight road games and Reign Wilkins did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Riverside for which the team can thank Wilkins, who had 15 digs and three aces. She has been hot, having posted 15 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Troy Christian walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-19.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Mississinawa Valley and Ansonia, and Mississinawa Valley kept the tradition alive. The Blackhawks put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday.

While Mississinawa Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-22.

Mississinawa Valley's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Troy Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Troy Christian beat Mississinawa Valley 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
