Baseball Preview: San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions vs. Hamilton Bobcats
The San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Hamilton Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Jacinto Leadership Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Things were looking good for San Jacinto Leadership Academy after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 15-1 to Nuview Bridge.
San Jacinto Leadership Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Westover, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Hamilton hadn't done well against Desert Christian Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Conquerors with a sharp 10-4 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Adam Barreto was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hamilton let Joey Alvarez and Seth Aanestad run wild.
