Soccer Recap: Silsbee Comes Up Short

Silsbee managed to slip by Hargrave the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 5-0 to the Falcons on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Silsbee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Hargrave are ranked 158th).

Silsbee has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Hargrave, they pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Silsbee will venture away from home to challenge Vidor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Silsbee their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Hargrave, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on February 3. This will also be Hargrave's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
