Recap: Kearney Bulldogs vs. Winnetonka Griffins
It was a good run, but the Kearney Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Winnetonka. Kearney was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Winnetonka apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Kearney's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Paalhar and Jojo Kutch. Paalhar scored 12 points along with three steals, while Kutch scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Addison Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists.
Kearney's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Winnetonka, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
Kearney will be playing in front of their home fans against Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kearney focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. As for Winnetonka, they will head out on the road to challenge Raytown South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
