Basketball Recap: Crestwood Falls Short of Canfield in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Crestwood couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 62-37 to the Canfield Cardinals on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since February 28, 2024.

Crestwood's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Dustman, who posted nine points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Rebecca Brady, who put up 12 points.

Crestwood's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Canfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

Crestwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canfield, they will challenge Streetsboro at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Streetsboro will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Canfield surely won't give up without a fight.
