Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Takes a Loss

Gulf Shores lost against St. Clair County on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dolphins took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Saints.

Kayleigh Jacks and Neaveh James did some serious damage despite the final result: Jacks went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while James scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Jacks is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camryn Nowlin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Gulf Shores has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13-1 record this season. As for St. Clair County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10-1 record this season.

Gulf Shores didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Plainview on the 29th. As for St. Clair County, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Pell City on the 29th.
