Basketball Recap: Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets vs. St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings
Chapelgate Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Plater, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three blocks. That's the most blocks Plater has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Milledge, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points.
Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Concordia Prep the next time they take the court. Chapelgate Christian Academy will head out to face Concordia Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while St. John's Catholic Prep will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
