Soccer Game Preview: Liberal vs. Derby

The Liberal Redskins will take on the Derby Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberal's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Bruce Randolph as Liberal made off with an 8-0 victory. Liliana Guy was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Derby sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Andover on Thursday. That's two games straight that Derby have won by just one goal.

Liberal has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those two matches. As for Derby, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Liberal came up short against Derby when the teams last played back in May of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Liberal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
