Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Livingston Wolves

Escalon has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Livingston Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Escalon stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 40-7 victory over Ripon. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Joshua Graham was his usual excellent self, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jamin Miller also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, Livingston's and Modesto Christian's matchup on Friday was close at halftime, but Livingston turned on the heat in the second half with 34 points. Everything went Livingston's way against Modesto Christian as Livingston made off with a 47-22 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Livingston had established a 24 point advantage.

Livingston's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zack Duran, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Max Nolasco got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Escalon's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points per game. As for Livingston, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
