Soccer Recap: Grimsley Find Success

Grimsley kept a clean sheet against Atkins on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Atkins Camels 1-0. That's more bragging rights for the Whirlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Ella Conway, which was the first she's scored this season.

Grimsley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1. As for Atkins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Grimsley will be playing at home against Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grimsley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Atkins, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Winston Salem Christian on the 4th.
