Baseball Recap: Notre Dame's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Panther Valley, Notre Dame was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Moravian Academy Lions by a score of 7-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Aidan Acosta and Lucas Vega were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Acosta pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Vega tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Notre Dame is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-11 otherwise. At bat, Acosta went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Vega went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits Vega has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Bordas, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Milai Molina also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Notre Dame's record now sits at 3-12. As for Moravian Academy, they are on a 19-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-19.

As of now, neither Notre Dame nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
