Softball Recap: Eldon Holds Eugene Scoreless

Eldon got themselves on the board against Eugene on Tuesday, but Eugene never followed suit. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-0.

Eldon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenzi Ward, who went 2-for-4 while posting 1 RBI and 1 run.

Eldon's pitchers kept the bats quiet and finished the game with only two hits allowed. That's the fewest hits allowed they have managed all season.

On Eugene's side, Madelyn Doerhoff was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 7 innings while giving up just 1 earned (and three unearned) runs off 6 hits.

Eldon now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eugene, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldon will challenge Crocker at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eugene, they will face off against Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
