Baseball Recap: East Chambers Gets the Win

East Chambers's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Broaddus Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sam Cathriner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Reid Todd was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Braxtyn Trahan was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

East Chambers' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Broaddus, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, East Chambers will welcome Orangefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Broaddus, they will be taking part in a tournament against Colmesneil at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
