Recap: Mansfield Summit Jaguars vs. Seagoville Dragons
The Mansfield Summit Jaguars had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 37-7 victory over Seagoville on the road. The result was nothing new for Mansfield Summit, who have now won seven matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Jeremiah McLin threw for 91 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Joseph Williams was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards. On the ground, Amare Burgess rushed for 61 yards.
The win was the fifth in a row for Mansfield Summit, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for Seagoville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Mansfield Summit will head out on the road to face off against Texas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Texas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mansfield Summit in Texas (Texas is ranked 30th, while Mansfield Summit is ranked 107th). Seagoville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
