Football Preview: Orcutt Academy Spartans vs. Cate Rams        
        
		
             The Orcutt Academy Spartans will challenge the Cate Rams at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Orcutt Academy comes in on four and Cate on five.
 Orcutt Academy gave up the first  points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They came out on top against Thacher by a score of  38-28. The Spartans pushed the score to  38-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Toads cut but never quite recovered from.
 Orcutt Academy had a senior duo take command as  Ryan Dollahite gained 174 total yards and two touchdowns and  Joaquin Perez rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The dominant performance also gave  Dollahite a new career-high in  rushing yards.  Moses Aguirre was another key player, rushing for 45 yards and a touchdown.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Orcutt Academy was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 301  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Orcutt Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as  Isaac Noble,  Dollahite,  and  Aguirre picked up one apiece.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Cate). They blew past Laguna Blanca 43-0 on the road  on Saturday. Given the Rams' advantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked fourth, while the Owls are ranked 45th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Orcutt Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cate, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Orcutt Academy was dealt a bruising  55-0 defeat at the hands of Cate when the teams last played  back in September of 2021. Can Orcutt Academy avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
