Baseball Game Preview: SS Seward vs. Eldred Yellowjackets

SS Seward will square off against the Eldred Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eldred took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on SS Seward, who comes in off a win.

SS Seward's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Tri-Valley. SS Seward hasn't had any issues with Tri-Valley recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Eldred was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of SS Seward.

Jayson Banach was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Banach wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Tice, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That double was Tice's first of the season.

SS Seward now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eldred, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
