            Baseball Recap: Adrian Maples vs. Jackson Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Adrian). They put the hurt on the Jackson Vikings with a sharp  16-2 win on Monday. With that  victory, the Maples brought their scoring average up to 6.4  runs per game.
 Abram Marlatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Marlatt was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high.

 In other batting news,  Adam Parker and  Luke Bruggeman did most of the damage at the plate:  Parker  scored five  runs and  stole two bases while going 4-for-5, while  Bruggeman  scored three  runs and  stole six bases while going 1-for-1. Those  five  runs gave  Parker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Landon DeKeyser, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
The  win made it two in a row for Adrian and  bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Jackson,  they are  on  a  14-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Adrian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
