Crest entered their tilt with Randolph on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Cardinals. Considering the Chargers have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Aidan Ledbetter made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Allie Summer and Josi Downey did most of the damage at the plate: Summer scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Downey went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Summer has posted since back in March. Lily Pruett was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph only posted a batting average of .182.
Crest's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Randolph, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Coming up, Crest will square off against Midlakes at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Randolph, they will look to defend their home field on the 23rd against Forestville Central at 5:00 p.m.
