Basketball Recap: Gray Stone Day Comes Up Short

Gray Stone Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the North Stanly Comets 76-41. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Comets are ranked 190th).

Despite the defeat, Gray Stone Day had strong showings from Colt Greer, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Mason Coley, who posted ten points.

Gray Stone Day's record is now 3-15. As for North Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Gray Stone Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-23 loss against South Stanly on the 11th. As for North Stanly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-52 victory against Albemarle on the 11th.
