Baseball Recap: Fort Cherry Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fort Cherry walked away with it. They skirted past the Everett Warriors 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rangers have posted since April 20th.

Colton Temple made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Fort Cherry's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Everett, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7.

Looking ahead, Fort Cherry will square off against Mercyhurst Prep on Thursday. The Lakers will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. Everett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
