Preview: Genoa-Hugo vs. Cripple Creek-Victor

This week, Genoa-Hugo faces off against Cripple Creek-Victor on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Both teams enjoyed a wide margin in their previous games.

The result looked promising given the state ranking disparity, but Genoa-Hugo did even better than expected last week. It had all the answers against Hanover last week, winning 59 - 27. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Caid Smith, who brought his A game into the contest. He ran for 145 yards and also punched in five touchdowns.

As for Cripple Creek-Victor, it breezed past Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind two weeks ago with a final score of 46 - 25. The high-scoring offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Cripple Creek-Victor's flat performance last game.

Their wins bumped Cripple Creek-Victor to 1-1 and Genoa-Hugo to 2-2. Genoa-Hugo and Cripple Creek-Victor had some big point totals in their last games, so we'll see if they bring that energy into this game.
