Soccer Game Preview: Classical Magnet vs. University

The Classical Magnet Gladiators will take on the University Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Classical Magnet came up short against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy two weeks ago, falling 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for Classical Magnet in their meetings with Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, University kept a clean sheet against Hartford Public on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Owls 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for University.

University's victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Classical Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Classical Magnet was able to grind out a solid win over University in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 5-3. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
