Basketball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Austin Classical Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-34 back in December of 2024.

Austin Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Meredith Scott out in front who posted 14 points and six boards. Olivia Hamilton was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Legacy Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Austin Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Legacy Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 4th. Austin Classical has already played their next contest, a 42-37 loss against Hill Country Christian on the 18th.
