Basketball Game Preview: St. John's Mavericks vs. Acalanes Dons

After both having extra time off, the St. John's Mavericks and the Acalanes Dons will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. John's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matches.

Two weeks ago, St. John's had to suffer through a 96-61 loss at the hands of Legacy School of Sport Sciences.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sebastian Williams-Adams, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Callahan, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Acalanes came up short against Woodcreek last Saturday and fell 53-46. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 26th).

St. John's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Acalanes, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
