Football Game Preview: Salesian College Preparatory Pride vs. Saint Mary's Panthers + Official Tickets

The Salesian College Preparatory Pride are taking a road trip to square off against the Saint Mary's Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Salesian College Preparatory will be strutting in after a victory while Saint Mary's will be coming in after a defeat.

Salesian College Preparatory took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 38-13 margin over De Anza. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pride's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Dons are ranked 783rd).

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinole Valley.

Salesian College Preparatory will need to focus on slowing down Sutton Ralls, one of several Saint Mary's players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards. Another player making a difference was Adam Steiner, who rushed for 90 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Salesian College Preparatory's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Saint Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Salesian College Preparatory against Saint Mary's when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pride since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
