Recap: American Collegiate Academy Rough Riders vs. Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors
The American Collegiate Academy Rough Riders fell victim to the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Warriors 43-0. American Collegiate Academy's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Leading Zephyrhills Christian Academy to victory were Kendall Johnson and Parker Stirnkorb. Johnson gained 129 total yards and a touchdown, while Stirnkorb threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Rogers Jones also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
American Collegiate Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Clearwater Academy International and 7-2 First Baptist Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.2% over those games). As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
American Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Zephyrhills Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victory Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th.
