Manitou Springs waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 70-65 W over the Rye Thunderbolts. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 49-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Manitou Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Thomas Reed led the charge by putting up 21 points. Reed is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Cohen Barrett was another key player, posting 16 points.

Despite the loss, Rye saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Guzman dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guzman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Guzman, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Manitou Springs is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Rye, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Manitou Springs will square off against The Vanguard School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vanguard School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 79.3 points per game this season. As for Rye, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-45 win against Dolores Huerta Prep on the 28th.
