Football Game Preview: Manatee Hurricanes vs. Palmetto Tigers

Manatee is 0-7 against Palmetto since March of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Manatee Hurricanes will welcome the Palmetto Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Manatee will be strutting in after a win while Palmetto will be coming in after a loss.

Manatee's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bayshore as Manatee made off with a 20-0 victory. The game marked the Hurricanes' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Palmetto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Braden River. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Manatee and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Manatee might still be hurting after the 24-0 defeat they got from Palmetto when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Manatee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
