Basketball Game Preview: Maurepas Wolves vs. Family Christian Flames

Maurepas hasn't had much luck against Family Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Maurepas Wolves will square off against the Family Christian Flames at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Maurepas was beaten by Central Private 61-28.

Meanwhile, Family Christian had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 win over the Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Flames have posted since February 1, 2024.

Family Christian has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Maurepas, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Maurepas might still be hurting after the 44-21 loss they got from Family Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Maurepas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
