Soccer Game Preview: Des Moines East vs. Urbandale

Des Moines East is 0-6 against Urbandale since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Scarlets will square off against the J-Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Des Moines East's offense. They lost 4-0 to Perry on Tuesday. Des Moines East have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Urbandale had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out Roosevelt 1-0. The victory continues a trend for Urbandale in their matchups with Roosevelt: they've now won four in a row.

Des Moines East might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Urbandale when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Scarlets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
