Glasgow suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Glasgow Scotties vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

The Glasgow Scotties were the 53-44 winner over the Edmonson County Wildcats when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Glasgow took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edmonson County on Friday. While losing is never fun, Glasgow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Edmonson County is ranked 32nd).

Edmonson County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cariann Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Williams hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Kenadi Swihart was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Glasgow's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Edmonson County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Muhlenberg County the next time they take the court. Glasgow will host Muhlenberg County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Edmonson County will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
