Football Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Southside Tigers + How To Watch

The Laurens Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Southside Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Laurens comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Laurens ended up a good deal behind Fountain Inn and lost 26-7.

Laurens might have lost, but man, Nehemias Fernandez was a machine: he rushed for 127 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Fernandez got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 71 yards.

Meanwhile, Southside fell victim to Westside and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Rams, falling 55-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Rams are ranked 70th).

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Laurens, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Laurens against Southside in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
