Softball Game Preview: Juanita Ravens vs. Redmond Mustangs

Juanita hasn't had much luck against Redmond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ravens will head out to challenge the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Juanita will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Juanita will bounce into Friday's match after beating Eastlake, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Ravens won by a run and slipped past the Wolves 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Elliott Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josie Peeler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Ashby Kee also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Redmond faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mustangs took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. It was the first time this season that the Mustangs let down their fans at home.

Redmond's loss dropped their record down to 10-2-1. As for Juanita, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Juanita suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Redmond when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
