Football Recap: San Saba Starts off Right with Win over Grape Creek + How To Watch

San Saba had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Grape Creek Eagles 27-12 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Armadillos also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Luke Tharp had a dynamite game, rushing for 142 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

San Saba didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tharp. Another thorn in Grape Creek's side was Jason Everett, who made 17 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Looking ahead, San Saba will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Junction at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grape Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Reagan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
