Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thayer). Everything went their way against the Winona Wildcats on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-3 win. The Bobcats have beaten the Wildcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Carter Nicholson was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Devin Harrington was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Thayer's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Cooper Clark was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Thayer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Thayer now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Winona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Thayer will head out to challenge Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Winona, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dora at 5:00 p.m.
