Basketball Recap: Ankeny Centennial Takes a Loss

Ankeny Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Urbandale J-Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-57 back in December of 2024.

Ankeny Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Urbandale, they moved to 2-9 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ankeny Centennial will host Dallas Center-Grimes at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th. As for Urbandale, they will take on Lincoln at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
