Softball Recap: Biloxi Takes a Loss

Biloxi fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against St. Martin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Martin Yellow Jackets. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Yellow Jackets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Aubrey Atchison was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Jolee Shaver was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Biloxi's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for St. Martin, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Biloxi will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Harrison Central at 6:30 p.m. Harrison Central's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Biloxi's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Martin, they will square off against Ocean Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ocean Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
