Recap: East Lansing Trojans vs. Byron Center Bulldogs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the East Lansing Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Byron Center as East Lansing made off with a 42-20 win. Winning may never get old, but East Lansing sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Jace Clarizio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 230 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Clarizio is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Benjamin Fletcher was another key contributor, throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.

East Lansing has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Byron Center, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-2.

East Lansing will face off against Muskegon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Muskegon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Byron Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
