Softball Recap: Pottsville Comes Up Short

Pottsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-Valley Bulldogs.

Jes Siminitus and Aubrey Scanlan did some serious damage despite the final result: Siminitus scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Scanlan went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That double was Scanlan's first of the season.

Pottsville now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Tri-Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pottsville will take on Mahanoy Area at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-Valley, they will challenge Weatherly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Valley is facing Weatherly at the right time seeing as Weatherly is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
