Preview: Otis-Bison Cougars vs. LaCrosse Leopards

Otis-Bison and LaCrosse are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Otis-Bison Cougars will be home for the holidays to greet the LaCrosse Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Otis-Bison has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Otis-Bison has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 66-30 victory over Chase on the road. Otis-Bison's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, LaCrosse strolled past Dighton with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 47-30. Given LaCrosse's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Dighton is ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LaCrosse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Morgan, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morgan has scored at least 25% of LaCrosse's points. Another player making a difference was Avery Parrott, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Otis-Bison's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for LaCrosse, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
