Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for North Tahoe

North Tahoe lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pershing County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. Everything went the North Tahoe Lakers' way against the Pershing County Mustangs on Saturday as the North Tahoe Lakers made off with a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Peter Rusek made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Noah Glickman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Curtis Edmunds, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

North Tahoe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pershing County only posted a batting average of .160.

North Tahoe's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pershing County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
